Coconut Meat is very high in fibre [meaning it helps you feel fuller for longer] and lower in glycemic index [meaning your blood sugar wouldn't spike up quickly].
Coconuts are packed with nutrients and are credited with having various health promoting properties. The meat of the coconut [the white part] provides the B vitamins, protein, zinc, phosphorus and iron. Recent research has suggested that the fat found within coconuts is very good for us! This is due to the high lauric acids which also happens to be the main fatty acid that is found in breastmilk. Lauric acid is what makes breastmilk so digestible and is believed to protect the body from infections and assists in boosting the immune system.
Coconut flour can be added to specific dishes to enhance nutritional value to a meal. Its always better to add small amount to baby's food. It can also be used for baking as its Gluten Free! [From 10 month]
